History Released in 1958, the MK2 shared its body and parts with the S-Type (1963) and was renamed 240-340 depending on the engine in 1967. The MK2 enjoyed a great success in the sixties and was widely sold in the USA as THE European luxury sedan. On screen career After its career of luxury car in the sixties, the MK2 knew a second birth in seventies in movies and TV series. Fast and still good looking, it was quite cheap. Thus, we can see this cat in many car chases and action movies. It remains famous as Inspector Morse's car.
