History

The Mark X, also known as the MKX was released in 1961. At that time it was the largest Jaguar saloon on the market. It was renamed 420G in 1966. This is the last Jaguar with the dashboard made of plain wood. The MKX was succeded by the XJ in 1970.
On screen career

The Mark X is fairly uncommon in movies. It actually suffered the great sucess of its little sisiter the MK2, cheaper and still representing a luxury sedan. The Daimler 420 limousine was much more used in movies (even the hearse version !)
